The post Hideo Kojima era for the Metal Gear series is definitely an interesting one. Revealed exclusively through IGN, the trailer for Konami’s new Metal Gear Survive has arrived and takes the series in a whole new direction.
Stet for a 2017 release on XBox One, PlayStation 4 and PC, Metal Gear Survive is set right after Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes and sees members of the Militaires Sans Frontieres thrown through a wormhole into an alternate universe where they fight crystal headed zombies and what seems it could be a Metal Gear or some other large threat. Metal Gear Survive is a four-player stealth co-op survival horror game.
“Metal Gear Survive will offer a fresh take on the series’ famed stealth elements,” said Konami European president, Tomotada Tashiro in a press release. “But within a unique co-op setting that is designed for a truly engrossing multiplayer experience.”
Big Boss appears at the start of the trailer but it isn’t clear at this point if he or any of the Snake clones or any regular characters from the series will make appearances in the game itself.
