As the games are only a few months from release, Nintendo continues their series of trailers for Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon which reveal brand new Pokémon and other aspects of the new generation of games. The latest reveals a few new Pokémon, new Alola forms for previous Pokémon and the new enemy team that will menace trainers.
The new Pokémon include the fish Pokémon Wishiwashi that has an ability to go from one solo fish to a whole school of fish merged together as one giant fish, a Pokémon named Pyukumuku that attacks with it’s inards and the fairy/grass Pokémon called Morelull.
As previously revealed, the new games come with new regional Alola forms of some previous generations’ Pokémon. The latest Alola forms come for Marowak (who becomes a fire & ghost type Pokémon), Meowth (who becomes a dark type Pokémon) and Raichu (who remains an electric type Pokémon but also is a psychic type) who now air surfs on it’s own tail.
The biggest reveal is the new villain team. Unlike the polished and professional looking Team Flare from Pokémon X and Y, the Alola region has the more thug like Team Skull to deal with. According to the official website, Team Skull likes to “steal other people’s Pokémon, mess up the trial sites, and delight in all kinds of evil deeds.”
Team Skull is led by their “Big Sister” Plumeria and their leader Guzma. Plumeria is described as “a tough lady who keeps Team Skull in line and working together—in the same way a strict older sister would” and is said to care about the grunts below her and will hurt anyone that attacks them. Leader Guzma is said to pour on attacks and battle without mercy and apparently “seems to have a bone to pick with Professor Kukui” and has a grudge against the trial captains that are part of the Island Challenge feature.
Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon will be available for Nintendo 3DS systems on November 18.
