The reveals of San Diego Comic Con specific posters continues as Entertainment Weekly shared the first look at the new poster for NBC’s Powerless, a work place comedy series set in the world of DC Comics, which also reveals a brand new cast member for the series.
Designed by comic book artist Neal Adams, the poster features the already announced cast members played by Vanessa Hudgens, Alan Tudyk, Dani Pudi and Christina Kirks alongside new addition comedian Ron Funches.
No stranger to NBC, as he starred on their series Undatable for the past three seasons, Funches will play Ron, an IT guy who works at the RetCon Insurance Co. Ron is described as a ” sweet and innocent guy who, unlike his co-workers, has not lost his childlike enthusiasm for all things superhero.”
In the first comedy series set in the universe of DC Comics, Vanessa Hudgens plays Emily, a spunky young insurance adjuster specializing in regular-people coverage against damage caused by the crime-fighting superheroes. It’s when she stands up to one of these larger-than-life figures (after an epic battle messes with her commute) that she accidentally becomes a cult “hero” in her own right… even if it’s just to her group of lovably quirky co-workers. Now, while she navigates her normal, everyday life against an explosive backdrop, Emily might just discover that being a hero doesn’t always require superpowers.
Powerless is scheduled to join NBC’s schedule in 2017 as a midseason series.
