“Injustice 2” officially announced for 2017 launch with first trailer

Following rumors that an announcement was going to be made, and leaked images of posters, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment officially announced Injustice 2, the sequel to their 2013 fighting game Injustice: Gods Among Us, and released the first trailer.

Set in an alternate time line, the original game followed a world where Joker tricked Superman into killing Lois and their unborn child which caused Superman to snap and kill the Joker, and then take over the world. A resistance led by Batman worked to try and bring down Superman and his world government, with familiar characters on both sides of the divide.

The game was developed into a comic book that is still running, in it’s fifth edition, at DC Comics.

The game will be available on PS4 and Xbox One in 2017, and will introduce new characters to play including Supergirl and villains Atrocitus and Gorilla Grodd.
