“Transformers: The Last Knight” sees the return of series star Josh Duhamel

Transformers 5
After Transformers: Age of Extinction arrived in 2014 news about the Transformers franchise has mostly revolved around the brain trust of writers that were gathered to create a full universe of films including spinoffs from the main series. It was known that the main series would continue, but details about what that meant were pretty scarce.

Now with filming ready to start on June 6, news is coming out pretty quickly. After the revelation of the film’s title and logo, Transformers: The Last Knight, now word has come down that original trilogy star Josh Duhamel is returning to the series after having sat the fourth film out.

The news that Duhamel is returning as Lieutenant Colonel Lennox was shared through the official Transformers Twitter account, and also shared by Duhamel himself and director Michael Bay even tweeted about it.

Earlier this year Paramount snagged the date of June 23, 2017 for the fifth film followed by Transformers 6 on June 8, 2018 and Transformers 7 on June 28, 2019. Rumors are that the sixth film will be a stand-alone movie for the character Bumblebee. Transformers: The Last Knight is said to be Bay’s final film in the franchise.
